Preview: Sercombe on Accrington Stanley

1 April 2022

There will be no holding back this season as Cheltenham Town look to secure a record club finish in the eyes of Liam Sercombe.

The experienced central midfielder wants to end the season on a high in what has been a successful return for the Robins to the third tier of English football this campaign.

The team travel to Lancashire on Saturday to take on an Accrington Stanley side who are level on points knowing a good result will strengthen Michael Duff's side's position in the middle of the table.

"We as players at the start of the season set an aim of what we wanted to achieve this season," he said.

"We are on track for that and we just need to keep going. We'll take the last six games as we've taken every other game.

"As professional players you are never going to let the season peter out because you get one career in the game and you want to put everything into it no matter what the situation is.

"We're looking to get as many points as we can from this last six."
