Preview: Bonds on Portsmouth

8 April 2022

Taking on another of League One's big clubs is far from intimidating for midfield man Elliot Bonds ahead of this Saturday's home contest with Portsmouth.

The Guyana international has been speaking ahead of this weekend's game at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium as he aims to continue what has been an excellent second half of the season for him personally.

Cheltenham have got used to facing some of the bigger clubs in the third tier this season, and a Pompey side containing another excellent squad for the level who were only playing in the Premier League, Europe and picking up the FA Cup trophy a decade ago are the latest side to visit on Saturday.

"There are a lot of names in League One this year and every one that we play against we go in with the same mindset - it doesn't really change," he said.

"We go into this game no different from the Sheffield Wednesday game or any game.

"We try to do what we do, try and compete, and do the stuff that's got us where we are right now. Nothing really changes.

"We know we're a fit team. We can run over teams. That's non-negotiable for every game. That's what we'll try and do."
