History makers: 2022/23 season tickets announced

21 April 2022

Here’s to the next chapter of our brilliant story.

A sixth season in League One, thanks to a record points haul and the chance to achieve the club’s best ever finish under Michael Duff.

There have been ups, downs and everything in between. Once again we’ve defied the odds but we’re getting ready to do it all again, starting today with the launch of our 2022/23 season ticket campaign.

We’ve come a long way since the club’s first ever title win under Alan Wood, the groundbreaking 1982-83 Southern League Midland Division campaign that got underway 40 years ago this summer.

It paved the way for four decades of success. The Southern League title triumph under John Murphy two years later. Steve Cotterill’s class of ‘99. Bouncing back with Gary Johnson and Duff’s unprecedented achievement just 12 months ago.

They’re our five stars and they paved the way for today’s history makers.

To celebrate this moment, we’re announcing an exciting collaboration with Mira and the Cheltenham Paint Festival, commissioning a huge mural to appear in the main car park. It will feature a key figure from each of those momentous sides.

We’ll post daily updates as it comes together and they will be soundtracked by music producer Nigel Groom. Among other club projects the LA-based lifelong Cheltenham fan produced 'March of the Robins' which the players run out to on matchdays.

And we want you to be part of it, too. We’ll add the names of our 2022-23 season ticket holders to the final design, acknowledging the vital part they'll play in the next chapter. The installation marks a summer of improvements to the fan experience at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium and will get underway after this weekend’s match.

It’s going to be a busy summer and we want you to join us.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

About this year's prices

The Board of Cheltenham Town FC appreciate that the early bird ticket prices represent a slight increase on last season’s renewal price while all other prices remain unchanged. The reasons for this are because last season’s renewal price was itself frozen from the year before in order to reward those supporters who helped the club by donating their season ticket money during the Covid-19 pandemic. This year the decision has been taken to revert to early bird prices being made available to everyone at a percentage discount from the cost of an ordinary season ticket. The Board have arrived at a figure of 15% discount, which represents a substantial saving on the cost of a season ticket and with the aim of using this as a benchmark for future pricing.

Unfortunately the football club is not immune from the considerable cost rises being seen throughout the UK economy at the present time – we expect some of the club’s costs to rise significantly next season – but the Board have tried to keep early bird price increases at no higher than £30 (or £3.33 per month for the nine months of the football season).

When does Early Bird end?

The early bird prices will run until Tuesday, May 31, 2022 (11.59pm).

I am an existing season ticket holder, how do I renew my season ticket?

Season ticket holders will receive an email to confirm their details on the new ticketing system which will enable them to purchase their season ticket. Tickets in the Colin Farmer Stand or Autovillage Stand will be reserved until Friday, June 17, at which point all seats would be released for general sale. Please allow a few hours after the launch of the season tickets for your email to arrive. Here's how to claim your reserved season ticket

If any of the details of your ticket (such as location or your price category) are incorrect please contact the ticket office on tickets@ctfc.com to amend the information.

I have previously bought a matchday ticket. Do I have an account on the new system?

Anyone who purchased a ticket during the most recent season (2021/22) has automatically had their details transferred onto the new ticketing system. They will also be receiving an email to set up a new password in order to purchase a season ticket on the new system. Again, please allow an hour or two for this to arrive.

I am a new customer, how do I buy a new season ticket?

Go to the new ticketing system and select your ticket on the seating plan. Then select your price category before registering as a new customer. New accounts can also be created on the new ticketing system before purchasing a ticket. Any seats that are not already allocated will be available for purchase.

I've forgotten my password

You will not have a password on the new ticketing system unless you have already activated your account. If you have activated your account, you can enter your registered email address and reset your password.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. This summer we are able to offer supporters the opportunity to complete payment in three installments during May, June and July. This facility is not available online and must be completed through the ticket office either by phone, by email or in person. Please contact the ticket office by emailing tickets@ctfc.com or by calling 01242 573558 (option 1) to set up a standing order. Please note that payment must be received in full at least seven days prior to the first home match of the season.

What will my season ticket look like?

Next season the season tickets will be available either as a membership card or as a digital ticket that you can download to the wallet on your mobile device. Select your preference at the checkout.

When will I receive it?

If you choose a digital ticket, you will receive the tickets within 24 hours of purchase and they can be downloaded to your wallet. Physical season ticket cards will be available for post/collection at a later date prior to the start of the season.

Is the old ticket system still live?

The Glitnir system will still be active for the last two matches of the 2021/22 season against Bolton Wanderers (at home on Saturday, April 23) and Cambridge United away (on Saturday, April 30). After that point, we will retire the system. We would like to thank Glitnir Ticketing for their assistance over the last decade and wish them all the best for the future.

What happens to my details when you retire the old system?

At the end of the season the accounts will become inactive. Glitnir will then remove any information held according to their terms and conditions.

What are the matchday prices for 2022/23?

The matchday prices for 2022/23 will not change next season and full details can be found in the ticketing section of the official website.

What's happening with the Junior Robins next season?

Junior Robins will be replaced by a new rebranded initiative in 2022/23. All Under-14 season ticket holders will now automatically qualify as ‘Young Robins’. This will entitle them to lots of exciting benefits alongside entry to every league home match and more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

What is the date cut-off point for the various age categories?

Young Robins Under-14 ticket holders must be born on or after September 1, 2008. Under-18 ticket holders must have been born between August 31, 2008 and September 1, 2006. Ticket holders aged 18-22 years-old must have been born between August 31, 1999 and September 1, 2006. Over 65 ticket holders must be born before January 1, 1958.

What's happening with Block 1 next season?

Block 1 of the Colin Farmer Stand will remain the ‘singing section’ as it has been during 2021/22. While recognising that supporters will stand during the game, the club asks supporters with tickets for this area to sit down prior to the match and at half time, as tickets for other areas of the Colin Farmer Stand are not permitted to move to Block 1 on safety grounds. We anticipate demand for season tickets for this area to be high, which will limit the number available on a match by match basis.
