Reaction: Duff on Oxford United

18 September 2021

Michael Duff was pleased to see his players take onboard half time information to help them earn a home win over Oxford United.

The Robins made it back-to-back wins in League One for the first time this season thanks to Alfie May's second half goal in a 1-0 win.

Oxford, who have made the play-offs at this level for the last two seasons, dominated the majority of the first half, but after weathering the storm in the second 45 minutes Duff's men did enough to end up clinching three points as they held off Oxford at the other end of the pitch.

"I thought it was a good performance against a very good team again," Duff said.

"We sort of played ourselves into a little bit of trouble in the first half. We know what they do and we know exactly how they play.

"They took the information at half-time and I thought we weathered the storm with the shape good in the first half, but we didn’t really threaten, other than a couple of moments.

"Second half, they took the information and delivered a really good performance."

Next on the agenda for the Robins is a Carabao Cup third round visit to Championship side Preston North End.
