A week ago Dylan Barkers was playing for Alvechurch in front of under 300 supporters in the Southern Premier Central against Coalville Town.
Fast forward a week and the Dutch born midfielder started and played the full 90 minutes on his professional debut in the Carabao Cup third round at Championship side Preston North End.
It was a special night for the young midfielder who was signed in the summer and who was recalled from his loan at Alvechurch on Monday so that he could appear in Tuesday night's fixture.
"It was great to get out there for the first time in front of all these people," he said post-match.
"It's a great experience from going from step three last week and then this, it's incredible.
"The last game I played for Alvechurch was Coalville Town. It was a massive step up.
"It was never a 4-1 game. You can see how ruthless they are and you can't get away with certain stuff."
