Preview: Thomas on Oxford United

17 September 2021

Having proven that the team are up to competing at League One level, midfield man Conor Thomas now wants him and his Cheltenham Town teammates to produce consistent performances to guarantee more positive results.

In what is Cheltenham's first League One season since 2009, wins over Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town have shown that Michael Duff's men are more than capable of battling with the best there is to offer in the division.

Now though ahead of Saturday's home fixture with Oxford United it's another big challenge for the team as they look to make it back-to-back wins.

"We've had a good week training," Thomas said. "We know every game we've got to be on it and it will be tough and a bit of a derby as well, so hopefully there's a good atmosphere.

"We have done better against the bigger teams in the league and maybe we're a bit disappointed with a couple of other results.

"We've shown we can compete at this level and it is just finding a consistency with our performances and hopefully that will lead to positive results."
