Cheltenham Town participated in the third round stage of the Carabao Cup for the first time in the club's history on Tuesday night.
A trip to Championship outfit Preston North End proved to be the final involvement in this season's competition though as the powerful Lancashire side claimed a 4-1 win to make it into the last 16.
It was the first of three long trips in the space of a week with a visit to Wigan Athletic to come on Saturday, followed by an away fixture at Sunderland on Tuesday.
