Kyle Vassell has declared Saturday's match against Accrington Stanley as where his "season starts" having overcome a couple of minor fitness problems in his first few months as a Cheltenham Town player.
The early August signing has made nine appearances in all competitions for the club since he signed a one-year contract to join the Robins.
He's found the back of the net in fixtures against Bristol Rovers and Preston North End but has been using game time in League One in an attempt to get fit after training on his own during pre-season.
Now he feels up to speed and is looking forward to this weekend's match as he looks to show the quality that has seen him feature in the Championship previously.
"Because I didn't have a pre-season it's been hard for me to get fit. The first quarter of the season has been my pre-season. My seasons starts on Saturday," he said.
"We have to try and do our best in every single game. We are underdogs in every game we go into. We are trying to get a performance and put right the last couple of weeks and get back to winning ways as we had a good spell in the first block of games.
"We've got to be the best we can be and let everything else take care of itself."
