Preview: Duff on Bolton Wanderers

26 November 2021

Despite winning at Gillingham on Tuesday, Michael Duff is calling on his Cheltenham Town side to produce an improved performance in this Saturday's clash at Bolton Wanderers.

Victory in Kent on Tuesday made it back-to-back wins in League One, and this weekend the Robins travel north to the University of Bolton Stadium aiming to extend their recent good form for the second of three consecutive away fixtures.

Bolton like Cheltenham were promoted from League Two at the end of last season and Duff knows all too well that the former Premier League side will offer a big threat to his team.

"They are a good team. You look at the run they went on last season after Christmas. They recruited really well in January and they've carried that momentum on and recruited well again," he said.

"They play really expansive football. They have won their last two home games.

"I think the players will enjoy going and playing in front of a crowd. Every week we have to be at it because it's true. We've got to be at it every week no matter who we're playing.

"We've got to deliver a performance that was better than Tuesday night but the mentality of the group was really good."
