Preview: Blair on Portsmouth

1 November 2021

Saturday goal scorer Matty Blair believes there's nothing to fear when Cheltenham Town head south to take on one of the biggest clubs in League One on Tuesday.

Fresh off the back of scoring a late equaliser in Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Sheffield Wednesday, the former Doncaster Rovers and Fleetwood Town man feels that if the Robins work hard and get their game plan right at Pompey, they will give themselves every chance of picking up a positive result.

"It is another big club. They've been in the League a little longer so it just shows just because you're a big club doesn't mean you can walk the League and get out of it," he said.

"We've got to turn up and perform to the best of our ability. We're equals and we'll be equals on the day - eleven versus eleven.

"We'll turn up and put a plan in place and hopefully that'll be enough to get a result.

"There's nothing to really fear. Let's turn up, impose our game plan that we work on at training and give it a go."

Kick-off at Fratton Park is at 7.45pm. All tickets must be purchased in advance - they are not available to buy on the night at Pompey.
