2020/21 Academy review with Antoine Thompson

17 May 2021

With the 2020/21 season reaching its conclusion for the Cheltenham Town Academy, academy manager Antoine Thompson has been reviewing a challenging season for the academy set-up.

Despite the tests that have faced all of the academy players and staff, it's been another step in the right direction for the junior ranks at the club.

The impact of covid-19 has led to a stop-start season, but despite that there has been plenty of progress made with more academy talent stepping up into the first team, LFE Apprentice of the Season success, and innovative ways of teaching for the talented youngsters who represent the academy in their pursuit of being the first team players of the future.

While some areas of the academy are still operating currently, preparations are already firmly underway for the 2021/22 season.

Second year scholars Charlie Paterson, Toby Lawrence, George Clark, Liam Atwell, Felix Davis and Dan Stevens have now left the club in readiness for the next batch of new scholars to arrive for pre-season in the summer.
