Preview: Sercombe on Exeter City

12 March 2021

Ahead of his return to his hometown club on Saturday, Liam Sercombe is hoping Cheltenham Town can bounce back quickly from Tuesday's loss at Mansfield Town with a good performance at Exeter City this weekend.

Sercombe started for the first time since late December in Tuesday's loss at the One Call Stadium.

Now he is looking to make an impact in the final stages of the season, starting with a trip to his former club this Saturday.

Sercombe made over 250 appearances for the Grecians having come through the youth ranks at St James Park - helping them achieve two promotions in his time in Devon.

The 30-year-old knows many of Exeter's players and their manager, Matt Taylor. He says he knows that Cheltenham will be in for a test on Saturday but also knows his former employers will be aware of the challenge they'll have this weekend as Michael Duff's charges head south.
