Preview: Flinders on Morecambe

26 March 2021

Scott Flinders is looking forward to seizing the opportunity to return to the starting line-up on Saturday at Morecambe.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper has been restricted to five first team appearances this season on his return from a broken leg, with Josh Griffiths' impressive form denying him the chance to break into the starting XI.

With Griffiths away on international duty with the England under-21s squad at the UEFA Under-21 European Championships, it'll be between the experienced Flinders and fellow shot-stopper Max Harris to see who starts on Saturday against a Morecambe side boasting one of the best home records in the fourth tier.

If selected, Flinders feels his in depth knowledge of how the team are set up to play and the familiarity of his teammates, many of whom he's played with for several seasons, will be helpful in making his first competitive appearance since the Papa John's Trophy loss to Portsmouth back in December.
