The Cheltenham Town Community Trust's Football & Education Scholarship is recruiting new students for its September 2021 intake.
The scholarship gives students aged between 16 and 18 the opportunity to represent Cheltenham Town while gaining a nationally recognised qualification through a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
For nine years the Trust have been delivering the course with a 100% pass rate.
Based at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium, students balance their educational studies with playing football in the setting of a Football League club.
Study:
The academic program allows students to develop a breadth of knowledge, learn essential skills and gain the qualifications required to pursue a career in the sport & leisure industry.
- Study pitch side at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium
- Combination of theory and practical lessons in a variety of sports
- GCSE tutoring available for those who do not gain a 4 in GCSE Maths/English*
Train:
Students will be training regularly at a County standard facility to represent Cheltenham Town in the Community & Education Football Alliance League (CEFA).
- Train twice a week with a UEFA B licensed coach
- Individual coaching plans as well as team training sessions
- Performance analysis sessions
- Play in the full Cheltenham Town kit and travel to matches on the club minibus
Entry Requirements:
- At least a grade 4 or above in GCSE English & GCSE Maths*
- GCSE PE/BTEC Sport is desirable but not essential
Statistics:
- 100% pass rate
- 92% go on to higher education
- 55% go on to study on our degree program ran at the football club
*Please note that students who do not meet these entry requirements will be offered tutoring to re-sit if there are places available.
