Two of three Papa John's Trophy opponents revealed

Two of Cheltenham Town's three 2021/22 Papa John's Trophy group opponents have been confirmed.

League Two sides Bristol Rovers and Exeter City have been drawn in southern section Group E alongside the Robins.

The fourth and final team will be a Premier League under-21s side and this will be revealed on Thursday afternoon at 4.30pm live on Sky Sports.

On Thursday at 9am the fixtures for the upcoming 2021/22 League One campaign are also revealed, while the Carabao Cup round one draw will also take place in the afternoon at 3.40pm, again live on Sky Sports.

The last competitive meeting with Bristol Rovers came in August 2019 in the Carabao Cup, while Exeter were rivals last season in Cheltenham's successful promotion winning League Two campaign.

Match one of the group stage is due to be played on the week commencing Monday 30 August, matchday two the week commencing 4 October and the last group stage fixture the week commencing 8 November. 

These match dates are subject to change however dependent on Carabao Cup commitments.
