Club statement: Andy Wilcox

5 July 2021

Andy Wilcox has today stepped down from the Cheltenham Town Board of Directors after three years as chairman.

Following a period of discussion with the remaining Board members Andy has decided to focus upon his business activities and take a step back from football.

Andy Wilcox commented: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my four years as a director of Cheltenham Town Football Club and the last three years as chairman but the time has come for me to focus on my business interests. I hope to return to football again in some capacity in the future.

"Last season brought unprecedented success for the club and I wish everyone the best of luck for the new season in League One."

Cheltenham Town vice chairman David Bloxham commented: "on behalf of the Board I would like to thank Andy Wilcox for his hard work over the past three years as chairman.

"Leading a football club is a highly demanding job, especially during a time of huge challenges for the country and the football industry, but under Andy's chairmanship the club stabilised following the departure of Gary Johnson and went on to achieve great success under Michael Duff.

"We wish Andy all the very best for the future and he will always be welcome back at the club."
