Cheltenham Town have landed the signing of striker Sam Smith on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old forward joins from Championship side Reading and is available to make his debut in Saturday's League Two fixture at Forest Green.
It's the sixth loan of the Manchester born front man's career and his second in the fourth tier this season having spent time at Tranmere Rovers earlier on in the campaign.
Previously he has also spent time on loan at Bishop's Stortford, Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town and Cambridge United.
He's also made eleven appearances in the first team at the Madjeski Stadium, scoring in a Championship defeat to Norwich City in March 2018, while also representing their under-23s in the EFL Trophy.
During last season in the 2019/20 campaign he made a notable impression while on loan in League Two with Cambridge United. He scored eight times in 34 starts for the U's and played 83 minutes in the 1-1 draw at Cheltenham in December 2019.
Commenting on his signing manager Michael Duff said: "He is a player we have known about for a while. He did well against us last year when we was at Cambridge.
"He has experience of the level and has physicality and pace to run in behind."
Smith will wear shirt number nine for the club and his player sponsorship is now available. If you are interested in sponsoring him please email email@example.com to find out more.
