Wright: Cheltenham is a great place for me

2 February 2021

Deadline day signing Callum Wright believes Cheltenham Town is the perfect environment for him to take the next steps in his career.

The 20-year-old, who is captain of Leicester City's under-23s side, spent time researching what side Cheltenham were and how they like to play before he agreed to make the temporary move from the King Power Stadium to Gloucestershire on a loan deal from the Premier League club until the end of the season.

Having already tasted senior football as part of Leicester's last three EFL Trophy campaigns, the goal scoring midfielder now feels regular action in the fourth tier is just what his career needs, and he's also attracted by the possibility of helping the team acheive promotion into League One in the second half of the season.
