Reaction: Duff on Lincoln City

11 December 2021

Michael Duff wants to build on the momentum of his side's late comeback against Lincoln City after Matty Blair's last gasp equaliser earned Cheltenham Town a point at home to Lincoln City.

Once again Blair managed to earn his team a share of the spoils with a dramatic late leveller as Cheltenham bounced back from a disappointing midweek loss with a point against the Imps.

Duff was pleased to see how his team roused themselves after going behind late on in the game, and knows how important it is for his team to fight and scrap if they are to continue picking up the required points at this level.

"It was a bit of a funny game - quite open with lots of chances," he said.

"If you speak to Michael (Appleton) he'll have think they could have won it and I think we could have won it.

"I think if we score the second we do go onto win it. But we didn't.

"We concede in the 91st minute and you think you're going to lose the game so we showed a little bit of character there to come back and hopefully we can build on that momentum now.

"I thought it was a bit scrappy, a bit scruffy, a bit too open. You take every point. You've got to fight and scrap for every point.

"That point, that last minute goal, could keep us in the League. That's what we need to keep thinking."
