Preview: Milton on MK Dons

28 December 2021

Russell Milton is expecting to travel to MK Dons on Wednesday night with the same group of players who were available for Sunday's home loss to Plymouth Argyle.

The Robins assistant manager will once again be in charge in the dugout at Stadium MK with Michael Duff isolating due to COVID-19 reasons.

It's all set to be another tough outing for the squad against an MK side who won on Boxing Day at Lincoln City, and who sit seventh in the League One table.

Milton knows what to expect when his players line up against them and wants everyone to relish the opportunities some opposition clubs offer in the third tier.

"They very rarely go long. They play the ball out from the back. They trust their teammates to keep hold of the ball," he said.

"This is why we got promoted to get the club and the players playing against these sorts of teams.

"There's some really good games coming up. They're all good clubs. Teams we'll enjoy pitting ourselves against."

It's possible to purchase tickets and away travel for Wednesday evening's game online.
