Preview: Duff on Lincoln City

9 December 2021

An out of form Lincoln City will still offer a huge challenge when they visit the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Saturday according to Michael Duff.

The Imps head to Gloucestershire on a run of three consecutive League One defeats and having also exited the FA Cup against League Two Hartlepool United.

Despite that they boast an impressive squad and last season were just one game away from reaching the Championship when they lost the League One play-off final at Wembley Stadium against Blackpool.

Duff knows that even after Tuesday's disappointing loss against Cambridge United his team are going to have to be right on it if they stand a chance of picking up a result.

"They are in a difficult moment in the season and have had a lot of injuries. They were in the play-offs last year. They have an established well respected manager who plays really good football," he said.

"You look at where they've come from in the last three or four years form attendances to levels and they've improved everything.

"They've got a few players we looked at in the summer that we wanted to take.

"They are in a bad run at the minute but they are a good team."
