Long agrees to extend Robins future

15 December 2021

Seàn Long has committed his future to Cheltenham Town until the summer of 2024.

The Irish defender has signed a new contract to keep him at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium having first arrived at the club in the summer of 2018.

He has caught the eye with his performances in the Robins League One campaign so far this season and has recently led the team as captain.

The former Reading and Lincoln City man is approaching the hundred appearances mark and has developed into a versatile member of the backline having originally joined as a right back.

Commenting on his new deal, Long said: "I'm happy to have extended my stay here at Cheltenham.

"We've got a great manager, great staff, great bunch of players and a great culture around the club so I am delighted.

"I don't want to change too much because what I have been doing has been working. It's brilliant to stay here longer and I just want to keep going the way I am going and keep performing and helping the team."

Long will be in action once again on Saturday when the team head to Shrewsbury Town. Tickets and away travel for the match in Shropshire are available to buy online and from the ticket office.
