Robins secure services of talented midfield youngster

5 August 2021

Taylor Perry is the latest new addition to the Cheltenham Town squad ahead of the start of the new League One season on Saturday.

The 20-year-old midfielder has signed for the Robins from Premier League side Wolves on a season-long loan agreement.

He is signing number five for Michael Duff as Cheltenham prepare for their first taste of League One football since 2009 on the weekend with a first match at Crewe Alexandra.

Perry has progressed through the academy set-up at Wolves having first joined the West Midlands side at the age of seven.

He's made it into the under-23s squad at Molineux, but has also been handed first team opportunities, appearing in both the Carabao Cup and Europa League.

His Carabao Cup appearances have come in a win over Reading and as a starter in a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa where he played the full 90 minutes in front of over 30,000 spectators at Villa Park.

In December 2019 he appeared for Wolves in the Europa League, coming off the bench in the second half in a 4-0 victory over Turkish giants Besiktas.

He is available for Cheltenham's opening game this weekend and trained with his new teammates for the first time on Thursday.
