For the first time in over a decade Cheltenham Town begin a new season as a League One club at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday (kick-off: 3pm).
Following a successful pre-season which resulted in six wins from seven matches and the addition of a number of new faces to boost the squad, Michael Duff's side head to the Mornflake Stadium in a buoyant mindset, looking to carry on the momentum of a stunning 2020/21 campaign that saw the club crowned League Two champions.
As with all 23 upcoming opponents in the division Crewe will offer a massive test, though the two clubs did meet in the FA Cup second round last season, with an extra time win enough to see Cheltenham make it through into the third round.
Team news
Taylor Perry and Callum Wright are in contention after arriving at the club this week on season-long loans.
Owen Evans, Elliot Bonds (pictured) and Dylan Barkers are the other new summer additions who could feature.

Boss Michael Duff spoke to the press ahead of Saturday. He has praised the work of his players over pre-season:
"The group that have been in have been unbelievable. Their attitude, physicality and the way they've pushed each other.
"They've ramped it up again. I couldn't have asked any more from the group. I could be a manager for 20 years and I might not get a group as good at this."

Opposition
Back in League One last season, it proved to be a fruitful campaign for Crewe, who earned a 12th place finish.
They'll be looking to make progress again in a tough division, albeit they have lost a number of the key figures who have played such a huge part in their success over the seasons such as Perry Ng, who left last January for Cardiff City, and the same with Ryan Wintle who has made the same move.
They've recruited the likes of Callum McFadzean, Shaun MacDonald, Chris Long and Tommie Hoban to boost their quality and add to the youthful talent they already possess with the likes of Charlie Kirk and Tom Lowery.
The manager: David Artell
Heading into his fourth full season in charge, and his fifth as manager, Artell will be looking to continue making progress with a Crewe side he led into League Two at the end of the 2019/20 season.
It's his only managerial job to date having previously been academy manager at the Mornflake Stadium after a playing career that saw him turn out for the likes of Northampton, Mansfield and Chester City.
