Robins join social media boycott

29 April 2021

Cheltenham Town will stand with other football clubs and organisations this weekend by boycotting all social media.

It's part of a drive this weekend to combat online abuse and discrimination on online channels through football and other sports.

We are calling for social media companies to do more to make social media users accountable and ensuring there are real life consequences for online discriminatory abuse.

The FA and clubs from the Premier League, EFL, FA Women's Super League, FA Women's Championship, plus organisations such as the PFA, LMA, PGMOL, Kick It Out and the FSA will unite for the boycott from Friday through to Monday.

The boycott will take place between Friday, April 30 at 3pm and Monday, May 3 at 11.59pm.

We will not be posting anything on our social media channels between those times.

Fans will still be able to follow the club online here on the club website, while they'll still be able to watch Saturday's fixture at Newport County AFC live online by buying a match pass on iFollow for £10.
