Preview: Williams on Carlisle United

27 April 2021

Having already achieved three promotions from his 15 years in the game, striker Andy Williams wants to make sure he adds a fourth to his CV and wants to do it with a league title.

The experienced front man has helped Hereford United, Doncaster Rovers and Northampton Town all achieve promotions previously but they've been done either through the play-offs or by finishing in the automatic spots but not top.

Now ahead of Tuesday's home contest with Carlisle United, Williams wants to follow the guidance from boss Michael Duff in doing everything the team can to finish on top of the League Two table.

He knows a Carlisle side who gave Cheltenham a tough test earlier in the season will stand in their way on Tuesday evening but hopes there's an intensity to the game with the Cumbrians still possessing an outside chance of making it into the play-offs.
