Miles named LFE League Two Apprentice of the Season

26 April 2021

Cheltenham Town first year scholar Felix Miles has been named the LFE (League Football Education) League Two Apprentice of the 2020/21 Season.

The 17-year-old has beaten off all other scholars at League Two clubs across the country to land the prestigious award.

Miles, who hails from Bisley near Stroud, has caught the eye in his first season as part of the under-18s squad at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium and in December 2020 made his first team debut as a substitute in the Papa John's Trophy against Portsmouth.

Commenting on winning the award he said: "I feel really honoured to receive this award. It's been a really great year for me. I've played a lot of games, got a nice amount of goals and assists, and it's been positive overall.

"Coming in everyday and training and making that step up to be a scholar has been really good and I've enjoyed it. The transition from under-16s, where I didn't really play too much, and then playing solidly with the under-18s has been really good for me."

Miles was originally spotted at a Cheltenham Town Community Trust holiday camp and he has progressed through the age groups in the academy at Cheltenham.

Earlier this season he spent time briefly on loan at Hellenic Premier Division outfit Tuffley Rovers.

Other winners of the same award in recent seasons include Everton's Ben Godfrey, Watford's Ben Wilmot, Barnsley's Conor Chaplin and Stoke City's Nick Powell.
