It was two wins out of two after Tuesday's EFL Trophy trip to Newport County AFC.
Reuben Reid's first goal of the season sealed victory in south Wales and followed up Saturday's season opening Carabao Cup win at Peterborough United.
Alan Franklin made the trip to Rodney Parade to photograph the game.
