Vote for September's Autovillage Player of the Month

1 October 2020

For the first time this season Robins fans can vote for their Autovillage Player of the Month.

Supporters will be able to choose who they think has been the top performer in Cheltenham's first-team squad from a selected shortlist each month for the fourth consecutive season in association with our friends at Autovillage.

Michael Duff's side won three of their first five competitive matches, with all but one game played away from home.

September's Player of the Month nominees are:

  • Finn Azaz
  • Josh Griffiths
  • Liam Sercombe
  • Charlie Raglan

You can vote for your choice in our Twitter poll or by commenting on Facebook.

With seven goals all scored by different players, the Robins finished the month with a win and loss in League Two and the Carabao Cup.

Their first group game in the EFL Trophy at Newport County also ended in victory and three of the nominees are summer signings.

Goalkeeper Josh Griffiths played every minute in September, helping keep three clean sheets and especially impressing on his competitive debut during a 1-0 Carabao Cup win at Peterborough United.

Fellow West Brom loanee Finn Azaz impressed in an attacking midfield role, catching the eye in the league opener against Morecambe before scoring his first senior goal from distance in a 3-1 defeat at Championship side Millwall.

Azaz rounded off the month with an assist for Andy Williams as the Robins comfortably saw off Tranmere Rovers 3-0 in Merseyside to seal a first League Two win of the campaign.

Former Bristol Rovers midfielder Liam Sercombe enjoyed a scoring start to his Cheltenham career with the winner against Posh before going on to feature in all but the Newport game - taking the corner which lead to the third goal at Prenton Park.

Like Sercombe, defender Charlie Raglan featured in all but the EFL Trophy game and headed in his first goal of the season at Tranmere as well as being named in the EFL Team of the Week for his display.

Fans can vote for their winner by following the link to Twitter or by simplay commenting under our Facebook post, with the victor to be announced in the next couple of days.
