Cheltenham Town can announce the signing of Ellis Chapman, who joins the club from League One side Lincoln City.

The 19-year-old can play in a number of positions and becomes the club's tenth new player to join the club for the 2020/21 season.

Handed his professional debut by former Imps boss Danny Cowley at the age of 16, he has since accumulated a number of first team appearances for his hometown club as they progressed into League One, and also spent time on loan in the National League at Chesterfield.

Having come through the youth system at Lincoln, he secured a move to Leicester City at the age of 15, but returned to Sincil Bank shortly after to step into the first team squad at an early age.

During the 2018/19 campaign he featured regularly for Chesterfield in their National League campaign, while last season he played 17 times for the Imps in all competitions in League One and cup competitions.

His dad was also on the books at Lincoln in his younger days and he has trained with the club this week having made the move to Gloucestershire to link up with us at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

The board of directors have backed this additional signing on the understanding that players will be made available for loan in order to balance the budget at this difficult time.

Chapman's arrival at the club is in association with our official signing partners The Little Jet Company.
