A message from the chairman

26 March 2020

During these very testing times I would like, as Chairman of Cheltenham Town FC, to say a few words to you the supporters of this fantastic club.

It has been a very frustrating few weeks for us all and sadly I don’t think the situation is going to ease any time soon. Even though life without the beautiful game for me has been hugely frustrating and although my fingernails have now grown back and my blood pressure has gone back to some normality, I miss it terribly... especially after the incredible season that we have been enjoying.

But that said, football is a luxury that we all enjoy in our own time with a social pint or two before and after to discuss performances and players, refereeing decisions and so on. At this time it is far more important that as a football community of both staff and you, the loyal supporters, we stay safe. That means doing everything possible to avoid contact outside our own immediate families and to stick to the government guidelines as far as we possibly can.

These are uncertain times and very worrying for all of us. It puts football into perspective with the daily numbers of this terrible virus rising throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the World.

So from myself and the all of us at Cheltenham Town Football Club, please stay safe and I really do look forward to seeing you back, whenever it may be, supporting Michael and the boys when we can return to some normality.

Kind Regards
Andy Wilcox
