Following a busy pre-season that saw Duff prepare for his first full campaign in charge, his team experienced an indifferent opening month of the campaign - winning twice, drawing twice and losing three times.
One of those defeats was a Carabao Cup defeat to League One Bristol Rovers, while the opening day of the season was an emotional one as both Robins and Leyton Orient fans paid tribute to Justin Edinburgh, the former Orient manager who had sadly passed away a number of weeks before the first outing of the campaign.
