2019/20 season review: October

8 July 2020

Once again it was another unbeaten month in October as the team stayed in the top few positions of League Two.

Beginning the month with a trip to recently relegated Oldham Athletic, Ryan Broom's sweeping second half strike earned a point in a 1-1 draw at Boundary Park.

Jonte Smith's hat-trick helped us bypass West Ham United under-21s for our only win in the Trophy during the season, and then an army of over 700 Cheltenham fans made the trip up the M5 to another team that had dropped into the division from League One just a few months before.

Ben Tozer and Luke Varney's goals helped Michael Duff's troops to a 2-1 win at Walsall.

The month ended on home soil with a convincing 3-0 home win against Macclesfield Town.

A goal right before half time from Luke Varney set the team on the way to securing all three points over the Silkmen.

Watch Michael Duff's thoughts on how his team's October went above.
