Vote for your December Autovillage Player of the Month

3 January 2020

Cheltenham fans can now vote for their December Autovillage Player of the Month on social media.

Every month this season Robins supporters will be able to choose who they think has impressed the most out on the pitch from a selected shortlist, with the award sponsored by our close friends at Autovillage.

You can vote on Twitter via a poll or by commenting on our post on Facebook.

The shortlist for the final month of 2019 is:

  •  Jacob Greaves
  •  Will Boyle
  •  Alex Addai
  •  Jake Doyle-Hayes

Michael Duff's side played five times in December, with three 1-1 draws, a resounding 3-0 victory at Mansfield Town and a narrow loss to Plymouth Argyle on Boxing Day.

Defender Jacob Greaves, who was named EFL Young Player of the Month earlier on in the season, excelled in a back five that only conceded four times.

Awarded Player of the Match by sponsors in the 1-0 defeat to Plymouth, he also impressed going forwards with some driving runs up the pitch to support wing-back Chris Hussey on the left flank.

The 19-year-old Hull City loanee also put a ball over the top in the final match of the decade at Northampton Town which led to George Lloyd winning an early penalty at the PTS Academy Stadium.

Fellow centre back Will Boyle was also a stand out performer in December, highlighting his aerial threat by scoring goals in back to back matches.

In the absence of captain Ben Tozer, Boyle stepped in to play at the heart of the Robins defence in the comfortable victory at Mansfield, diving in to nod Hussey's free-kick into the bottom corner in Nottinghamshire.

The 24-year-old then headed in the equaliser a week later to help the Robins earn a draw at home against Cambridge United.

November's Player of the Month Alex Addai proved to be a force to be reckoned with again, scoring twice to continue his fine form from the previous month.

The pacey attacker raced through to add the third goal at Mansfield, also impressing away from home again at Port Vale - scoring after beating the defender with speed and skill.

Irishman Jake Doyle-Hayes assisted Addai's goal versus the Valiants, as he contributed with some all action displays in the middle of the pitch.

The Aston Villa loanee was an ever-present up until the Northampton match, where he was forced off with injury, and he is nominated again after winning Player of the Month in August.
