It was a goal scoring start for new arrival Alfie May on Saturday at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

The new addition from League One Doncaster Rovers got the second goal in a 3-0 win over Oldham Athletic.

He showed some impressive early signs for the Robins faithful and was relieved to get the weight off his shoulders strikers often get when joining a new club as they search for a first goal.

"I think today was a fantastic win. That puts us back in the mix," he said. "We need to keep this winning form up now for the month and for the season really and see where we finish.

"Our next game is Walsall at home and that's all we're thinking now. Think for that game and try and get the three points.

"It is always good to get a goal. It settles the nerves. I came in Thursday and met the lads on Friday and it was nice to get 90 minutes as well. I haven't done 90 minutes for a long time.

"I started getting a lit bit of cramp but when I get a little bit more game time that will slowly die down."

Tickets for the home match with Walsall on Saturday 11 January are now on sale. You can buy online or from the ticket office on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday this week. The ticket office is open between 10am and 3pm.
