A much improved Walsall side with one of the best away records in the division is what boss Michael Duff is expecting his side to come up against at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Saturday.

The Robins welcome the Saddlers to Gloucestershire in the second meeting between the two clubs this season.

When they first met goals from Ben Tozer and Luke Varney sealed a 2-1 win at the Banks's Stadium in October. At that point Saturday's visitors were struggling at the wrong end of the table.

They've picked up significantly though and travel down the M5 to Gloucestershire this weekend in a good run of form and looking to follow up their recent back-to-back wins over Leyton Orient and Salford City.

"If you look at them in recent weeks I think they've lost one in nine," Duff said.

"I think they've got the fifth best away record in the league as well so they're a much improved team to when we played them last.

"I think we were the third game in a run of six games that they lost on the spin.

"They look like the Walsall you would expect. Darrell (Clarke) has had a tough job and he had a tough run but he probably found out quite a lot about his players during that moment.

"They beat Forest Green 6-0 in the Leasing.com and that seems to have triggered a reaction from everybody.

"They've got a couple of ways of playing. They could match us up - they've played 4-4-2, they could play 4-3-3.

"They've got different options but they've definitely improved since we last played them."
