May on joining Cheltenham Town

3 January 2020

New Cheltenham Town signing Alfie May is looking to hit the ground running after penning a two-and-a-half year contract at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

The forward's transfer from League One side Doncaster Rovers has been completed and he is all set to make his debut for the Robins on Saturday when Oldham Athletic are the visitors for the first home match of 2020.

He trained with his teammates for the first time today at The Energy Check Training Ground and is keen to make an instant impact as a Cheltenham player.

"I can't wait to get started," he said. "I know there's a game tomorrow so I'm itching to get on the pitch and put the shirt on.

"I came in yesterday and met the staff and the lads. They made me feel very welcome.

"I want to get goals. I know that I've got an eye for goal.

"Running in behind is one of my big things and work rate. I love chasing down every ball possible.

"I'm a fit lad so I know myself that I can try and work hard and try and do something for the team."
