iFollow: Nichols on joining Cheltenham

31 January 2020

Deadline day signing Tom Nichols says he "jumped at the chance" to join Cheltenham Town after his loan transfer was completed today.

The 26-year-old has moved to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on a loan agreement from League One Bristol Rovers until the end of the campaign.

A former Peterborough United and Exeter City attacker, he has been speaking for the first time about his decision to move to Cheltenham and what he's hoping to bring in the four months remaining this season.

"The manager told me I wasn't required a few weeks ago and I haven't played since so I've just been hoping things would be cropping up and when this come up I jumped at the chance," he explained.

"It's 45 minutes up the road so I'll still be able to live at home in Bristol. I think it works for both parties.

"I've got a good all-round game and I'll always work hard for the team. My goal scoring record is pretty good in League Two as well.

"Lately it hasn't been as good as I'd have liked but I want to get some goals and get the team up the table."
