15 January 2020

Crypt girls are through to the Regional Finals of the Utilita Girls Cup after winning the Area Finals representing the Cheltenham Town Community Trust in Reading.

Bea Norwood scored the winning goal in the final as they beat a side representing hosts Reading 1-0 to qualify for the next stage of the tournament.

Going unbeaten throughout the competition, Crypt girls topped their group before seeing off a side representing Northampton on penalties in the semi-finals.

They are now a step closer to playing at Wembley Stadium and Amy Leask, teacher of Girls PE and Games at Crypt said: "The girls did themselves and the school extremely proud.

"They put their training into practice, and I cannot fault their commitment, physicality and teamwork. They are an outstannding group of girls on and off the pitch and we cannot wait for the next stage of the competition."
