Luke Varney praised the way this Cheltenham Town team keep on going right till the last whistle after another late win on Tuesday evening.

The former Premier League front man came off the bench to score the winning goal in a 2-1 success over Northampton Town - a result that saw the Robins make it three wins in ten days and six in a row at home.

Similarly to the victory over Leyton Orient recently, it was another late strike that earned maximum points and Varney was quick to highlight that in his post-match press conference.

"You can see why Northampton are where they are. They compete - it's always a tough game against them," he said.

"I went to watch the game at their place and we knew exactly what the game was going to be about.

"I think you can see we've stuck in there the last few games and scored very important goals in late stages so we feel we're covering every facet of the game at the minute.

"I must admit the changing room is not that buoyant because we're just getting on with our work. It's just three points again and big games to come."

The striker will be part of the squad that travels to Colchester United on Saturday. Tickets and away travel are on sale for that fixture from the ticket office on Thursday and Friday between 10am and 3pm.
