Goalkeeper Owen Evans hailed the togetherness of this Cheltenham Town group after Saturday's 1-0 win over Mansfield Town at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

The January loan signing from Wigan Athletic kept the second clean sheet of his Robins career and won the man-of-the-match award for his showing against the Stags.

He made two terrific one-on-one stops, including a first half save from Mansfield's shining light in attack, Nicky Maynard, to deny the visitors.

After the match though despite the plaudits he received Evans was keen to highlight how the strength of the group played its role in achieving a fifth straight home win.

"The lads defended together as a group unbelievably, especially in the last 15 minutes. There were a few good blocks, especially headers and clearances," he said.

"It was an all-round effort and I just did my part today.

"Everyone knows that we're pushing for something big. It's a whole squad game and everyone that comes in has a job - whether they're on the bench, not in the squad, or starting.

"Everyone is really committed to the cause so it's a great group of lads to be a part of."
