Cheltenham Town boss Michael Duff was delighted to see more of what his team is about in their 1-0 win over Carlisle United.

The Robins chief saw Reuben Reid's first half goal seal the club's first win at Carlisle since 1933.

Following the disappointment of Saturday's defeat on the road at Scunthorpe United there was a determination to bounce back with another long midweek trip to Cumbria.

And that is exactly the response Duff got from his players and he was keen to highlight this when he spoke to the media post match.

"That's what I was looking for. I wasn't particularly interested in the technical and tactical things today with the weather being the way it was," he said.

"That's what we wanted - that looked a bit more like us today. That was the most pleasing thing.

"In that first 75 minutes we could and maybe should have been more than one up.

"But then after that Carlisle really came onto us and we defended for our lives, got bodies behind the ball, tweaked a few little things with people coming on affecting the game which is what we want."
