Defender Will Boyle returned to the Cheltenham Town starting XI on Tuesday night at Carlisle United and helped the Robins to three points and a clean sheet in Cumbria.

The former Huddersfield Town man is now hoping his showing at Brunton Park will be enough to see him remain in the team for this weekend's home outing against Leyton Orient at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

Orient visit on Saturday for what will be a tough test for Michael Duff's men, though the Robins boss has a number of options available in his squad, including whether or not to continue with Boyle in position in the back five, or to reinstall Jacob Greaves to the starting XI.

"That's always been the aim to get in the team and stay in the team," Boyle said when looking ahead to the game.

"We're going to go out and do what we've been doing and focus on taking the next game as it comes.

"We're trying to show the real Cheltenham, more to ourselves really, and put the performance in that we know we are capable of every week. If we can do that then I think we've got half a chance.

"We've put ourselves in a good position now after this many games. There are 15 to go. We've just got to keep focusing like we have, like we do every week on the next one, and see where we end up."
