Grant Horton has graduated from the Cheltenham Town Academy and signed his first professional contract for the 2020/21 season.
The 18-year-old already has first team experience under his belt from his time as a scholar but will now feature in Michael Duff's squad.
Last season the Hereford based youngster made his EFL debut as a late substitute in a 3-0 win at Mansfield Town.
His appearance against the Stags came after training with the first team squad and featuring in a number of pre-season friendlies in the build up to the campaign.
He has been a part of the Academy set-up at the club since a young age and has progressed through the ranks.
In his first year as a scholar he enjoyed a successful long-term loan at Midland Premier League side Worcester City.
Then last season he headed out on loan again, playing initially for Bromsgrove Sporting, and then enjoying a lengthy stay with Yate Town in the Southern Premier South. A final loan stint saw him spend time in the National League South at Chippenham Town.
Horton has been training with the first team squad since the group returned for pre-season and has penned a one-year deal.
