NHS fundraiser nearing £6,000 mark

12 April 2020

The fundraiser to raise money for the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is heading towards the £6,000 mark.

Both Cheltenham Town players and staff, and members of the playing squad at Premiership rugby giants Gloucester, have come together to shave their heads to raise money online for the NHS to say thank you for the great work they are continuing to do every day during the coronavirus pandemic.

A shirt auction which ended earlier in the week raised well over £1,100, and donations for the head shave have continued to flow in on the Crowdfunder page set-up initially when skipper Ben Tozer became the first player to shave his head.

Next, if the total gets to £5,500, goalkeeper Scott Flinders will shave his head.

The likes of Will Boyle, Sean Long, Russell Milton, Steve Book, Alex Addai, and Gloucester's Jason Woodward and Ed Slater have taken part.

The head shave has gained national media coverage in The Guardian, Daily Mirror, Sunday People, Sky Sports News, TalkSport and more.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. If you'd still like to donate so we can edge the figure towards £6,000 please do online via the Crowdfunder page.
