A mixture of under-16s and under-17s helped Cheltenham Town to a 3-2 win over Birmingham City's under-17s in the Harriers Midweek Floodlit Cup on Wednesday.
Played at Bishop's Cleeve's Kayte Lane, Pete Haynes' side saw a brace from Callum Ebanks and a Dan Stephens (pictured) goal secure them victory.
Under-18s boss Haynes was pleased with what he saw on the night against their Category 2 academy opponents.
He said: "It was a very solid performance with all players sticking to their roles and responsibilities.
"Birmingham didn't cause too many problems and it was frustrating to concede just before half time and in the 90th minute, but the players showed great desire to work hard and defend and have quality on the ball when needed.
"It is great to see that in a pressured cup game against Category 2 opposition that players were able to perform to win."
The under-18s are back in the EFL Youth Alliance action this Saturday when they make the short journey to Swindon Town.
