Reaction: Broom on Stevenage

8 September 2019

Two assists, a goal, and a player of the match award summed up a fantastic afternoon for Ryan Broom in Cheltenham's 4-2 home victory over Stevenage.

The Welshman celebrated his birthday on Wednesday with a fine performance at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium as the Robins scored twice in the final ten minutes to earn another home win.

A livewire in the Robins midfield throughout the afternoon, Broom was satisfied to see the work he's put in on the training ground replicated in his performance.

"We'd have liked it to be a little more comfortable than that so there are things to improve on but we're happy to get the result in the end," he said.

"The gaffer and Russ [Milton] have been coaching me and given me an insight into what positions to take up. I enjoyed it out there today. It's a good position to effect the game.

"We are playing good football and creating a lot of chances which is a positive. Now we've got to do it every game - that's our next step and that will take us up the league table."

The Robins are next in action in League Two with a trip to Salford City on Saturday 14 September. Tickets and away travel are available to purchase from the ticket office this week.
