Reaction: Bowry on Exeter City

4 September 2019

Summer signing Dan Bowry made his first Cheltenham Town start in Tuesday's Leasing.com Trophy tie at Exeter City.

The Antigua & Barbuda international performed well on the right of a back three at St James Park, as a young Robins side lost 1-0 to the Grecians.

The 21-year-old had already come on as a substitute in the Carabao Cup loss at Bristol Rovers, but Tuesday was his first start and despite the result he felt the players on the pitch put in performances that may have done enough to capture manager Michael Duff's eye for upcoming League Two fixtures.

"On chances we deserved the win but at the end of the day we didn't take ours and they took theirs," Bowry said.

"I thought we played well overall and on another day we could have easily come here and scored three or two.

"I thought a lot of the boys did well, especially with a young team, and hopefully a few of us get a few more chances now in the upcoming games."

Next up for Cheltenham is a home game on Saturday against Stevenage. Kick-off is at 3pm at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium and tickets are available to buy online or from the ticket office on Thursday and Friday, as well as on matchday at the turnstiles.
