Defender Seàn Long has committed himself to a further year of football at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium after signing a new contract earlier today.

The Irishman has flourished in the League Two campaign so far and has been rewarded with a one-year contract extension.

It's a deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2021, and he's spoken for the first time after agreeing his new deal.

"I'm delighted," he said. "I love it here. I love playing football and the manager has been great, the staff, and there's a great bunch of lads here as well.

"I had last year to come back from the injury and they gave me the opportunity to play which was brilliant. To come back in pre-season and for the manager to be selecting me every week is another great feeling - I just want to keep it going now.

"We've had a good start but it's only a start. We need to be relentless in our work and keep that going throughout the season."
