Lloyd commits his future to Cheltenham Town

7 September 2019

One of Cheltenham Town's most exciting homegrown talents has committed his future to the club for a further two years.

Academy product George Lloyd has signed a new contract to extend his stay at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium until the summer of 2022.

The lively young forward is at the start of his second full season as a professional after initially breaking into the first team as a 17-year-old during his under-18s scholarship in the 2017/18 season.

His opening year as a pro last season saw him spend time out on loan at National League North Hereford in two separate spells, while he also scored a stunning header in a 1-1 away draw at champions Lincoln City.

This season he has already featured in Michael Duff's side on six occasions and his commitment and exciting potential has seen him rewarded with an extended stay at the club.

The Gloucester based teenager came through the youth ranks at the club where his fantastic return in front of goal saw him earn the opportunity to become one of the latest talents to have progressed through the Robins highly thought of youth academy.
